Using the Power of Twitter for Your Business
In the business world, Twitter has long been a service that most people don’t really understand. Because of this, the majority of businesses either use it the in the wrong manner or simply don’t use it at all. When the business world turns its back on, or misuses, Twitter they are passing up the opportunity to get ahead in their business niche. Twitter can be a powerful tool in marketing for any business if you know how to harness that power and use it correctly. Twitter could easily bring you an immense amount of high quality traffic in very little time.
There are essentially three main things you need to do to get Twitter to work for you. The first one, and the one a lot of people find the most daunting, is to get the word out and let people know you are on Twitter. You can find articles on every cyber corner of the internet on how to attract followers to your Twitter account. There are as many strategies and techniques out there as you can imagine. But there are a few things you can do right away, and on your own, to increase your profile. If you have an existing website for your business, then be sure to add a link to your Twitter page to get new followers as well as get the word out to existing customers that you are now on Twitter. When you send out e-mail communications, include a link to your Twitter page as well.
In the case of Twitter, absence does not make the heart grow fonder, so be sure to tweet daily. You need to keep yourself in your audiences mind and interact with them as much as possible. What is in your tweets is as important as tweeting every day. At some point, you will have gained enough of your follower’s faith that you can send out affiliate links, but for now, steer clear of that. While it isn’t absolutely necessary that you appear as an expert in your field, it doesn’t hurt. As you begin on Twitter, keep your posts to tweeting things that are interesting or valuable to your readers. You could tweet funny or inspirational quotes or let people know about a new blog post that may be of interest to them.
While it can be very tempting to purchase some of the Twitter automation software, this is not a good idea. This software does mean you have to invest less time in your Twitter page, but it makes your tweets and interactions with your followers less personal. You want your followers to know the tweets they get are coming from a real person on the other end. This small personal touch will endear you to your followers and encourage them to tell others about you as well.
