TweetMeme – The Hottest Links on Twitter

Social bookmarking sites are very popular these days. Sites like Digg and Reddit all link to other sites, and the links become popular with the amount of votes they get. If you’re looking for something that is more focused on Twitter, then TweetMeme might be what you’re looking for.

TweetMeme gets all of the links from tweets people make, and ranks them with their popularity. The amount of people that retweet a link determines it’s popularity. That combined with the authority of the tweeters is all taken into account.

I use TweetMeme to find some new and interesting content on the web. The fact that it’s paired with Twitter makes it all that much better. The Leaderboard is a cool part of the site they have that lists the top 100 twitter news websites on the net right now. The amount of retweets in the top 10 is amazing!

If you run a blog I highly recommend installing some sort of retweet button on your blog. I have on here on TwitterNerd and it’s very useful. It allows readers to retweet something to their account if they find it interesting or useful.
