Reasons to Use a Personal Background Image on Twitter

declutter-checklistProfessional backgrounds are a great advertising tool, and are something I advise every business owner who has just joined Twitter to have.  The standard  background on Twitter will not allow you to place as much information on your description area as a custom, professional background.

Including personal information, such as a URL, YouTube link, or other links to display to all of your viewers, is crucial to any business’ success.  And, there are a lot of options to use for backgrounds; you can even put up a personal picture.

The reasoning behind using a personal background is to get your brand’s name out there to the public.  So, any Twitter users who still have the standard Twitter background should look up information regarding Twitter background designers.  Many tools are available on the internet that you can utilize for no cost.

Anyone who has a little experience using image editing tools can change a background on their own.  Programs like PhotoShop are great to use, and you can have complete control over customization.  To put up an eye-catching background, you need to complete the following steps.  First, login to your Twitter account, then print your screen.  Next, you paste that image into your PhotoShop program, or whatever program you are using.  Once you do that, you will see a white box that has all of your tweets inside; design your background around the white box.

I believe it is better to have a personal image that includes extra information about yourself and your business to the left or the right of your page.  Wherever you decide to put your information, once you finish your design, you have to log back into your account and go to Settings.  After you enter the Settings section, click on Design and choose Change Background Image.  The last step is to select “browse,” upload your design, and save.  Once your new background image is on your Twitter page, you might need to make some adjustments, like moving your text and image, but doing so is not too hard.

Good luck on creating a personal background image for your Twitter page, and enjoy it.  You will get a good amount of followers soon.
