Landing More Twitter Followers
Twitter can be enjoyable to use. This is why so many users do not see how Twitter can be utilized as a business tool. The following methods can even be applied by those who are new to the marketing game. So, if you are interested in growing your number of followers to 5,000 plus in the course of several weeks, and all without breaking any rules that would suspend your Twitter account, read on.
1. For the people who already post on their own blog, make certain that it links to your profile page on Twitter. Most people that follow your tweets will also see the URL you posted; obviously, anybody would want to use this feature to their advantage.
2. Any profiles on Facebook, MySpace, or any other social site should be brought up in your Twitter profile. Since our world was officially hooked on reality TV years ago, there is now no limit to the amount of information people want to know about other people’s lives. The more often you tell people about your social network profiles, the more they will love following you.
3. You must spread your Twitter name wherever you can: in emails, birthday cards, newsletters, postal mail, on business cards, and any other method of written correspondence and communication. If you are a member of a newsletter site or a forum, use your twitter name along with “follow me on Twitter” in your signature at the bottom. This way your Twitter name will show up in every tweet you make.
4. Keep your tweets coming. Tweeting is the essence of the growing global community we call Twitter. Twitter offers more variety than any other place on the internet. And, there are too many subjects of interests to even count. However, keep you tweets right under the maximum number allowed per day.
5. Answering a message could gain you a friend. Because all tweets cannot be any longer than 140 letters and numbers, your replies need only be a couple of words if appropriate. Of course, you need to answer every tweet so the people who follow you do no think you are an automated robot. And, keeping correspondence on this personal level will help you learn about your group of followers, so you can tailor your responses more effectively.
6. The most hush-hush secret of expert tweeters can even work for those who have to force conversation a little more than other people. Instead of making statements, ask questions. For example, “Maybe it is just me, but isn’t Desperate Housewives so fascinating?” Another one is, “I really loved MJ, but isn’t all of this media coverage getting annoying?” While you should embrace controversy, respectful your follower’s thoughts and opinions.
7. Your advertisements you post through your tweets need to have quality content. Do not send one promotion after another; you will become nothing more than a spammer. Use appropriate methods, so you will not be unfollowed. Space out your promotional tweets with a couple of informative and conversational tweets. Being conservative with your messages is perfectly alright.
Don’t forget, there is a rule called the Golden Rule. Keep this in mind while you tweet. Think of the types of tweets you would want to receive; those are the sorts of tweets you should send. Your tweets should be grabbing, compelling, and make others want to post a response to your comments. Do not just tweet useless fluff in between your promotional tweets. Building relationships should always come first.
The trick is in your growth rate. It should fall in line with the rate of a person who manually adds followers. Once client utilizes this method and now has group of followers slightly larger than 50,000 that are spread over several Twitter accounts, and I project by Christmas that number will have doubled.
