Attracting Followers To Your Twitter Account
There are many ways to attract followers to your Twitter account. As you first join Twitter, it will automatically offer to search through Gmail, AOL, Hotmail and other e-mail accounts to find followers, but this is not a wise first step. If you have potential followers visiting your Twitter page before you have content uploaded, then all they are going to find are empty pages, which won’t entice anyone to become a follower. This is a great feature of Twitter but save it until you have your page up and running. Once your page is loaded with the content that will attract and keep followers, then it is time to implement a plan to attract the followers to your page.
One way to find people to become followers is through the Twitter tab on your page that is marked “Find People”. Once you click this Twitter option, you will have ways in which to search for people for your account. One option will be “Find On Twitter”. Through this option, Twitter will search through their members by a person’s first and last name or by their username. Another option will be the “Find On Other Networks”. Remember the step you were offered when you first signed up? This is it. Your third option is “Invite By Email”. This app lets you send invitations to people to follow your Twitter posts who are not already Twitter members. The last option, through Twitter, is “Suggested Users”. This feature will recommend people to invite as followers.
Outside of the feature tabs on your page for finding people, there is the search field that you can use. The search field is located on the sidebar of the home page of your Twitter account. In this field, you can type in some keywords to search for and Twitter will return the most recent posts that mention your keyword. The site http://search.twitter.com and conduct the same sort of search. With this option you can conduct a more advanced search than through the search field on your home page.
That pretty much wraps up the ways to find followers through Twitter, but there are many other ways to find followers through some third party searches. The website tweetbeep.com lets you enter some keywords and sends you alerts when someone mentions the keyword or words in a tweet. From there, you simply click on the person who sent the tweet and decide if you want to add them to your account or not. There is also a site that lets you take part in tweetchats. You pick topics that interest you or are related to your business and join in on conversations that discuss these topics. From there you can find other people with similar interests and add them to your Twitter account. Once you have a base of followers, you can check out their profiles and add followers that they have. It is likely that followers you have found with similar interests will have friends with the same interests and who would like to follow your account as well.
Getting followers on Twitter takes a bit of patience and perseverance but it is worth the hunt. By using these different options, you will have as many followers as you want in no time at all.
